Anyone (you don’t have to be a guild member) who wants to talk about glass, doing shows etc. is invited to a potluck brunch at Karen Seymour’s by the zoo in Seattle. Bring a dish to feed about 8.
If you also bring something for the show and tell (glass, a new technique or questions about a process, a kiln “surprise” to diagnose etc.) people will be delighted.
Please contact Karen if you plan to come so we have enough chairs etc. out before everyone starts arriving.

The scrap melt Play Day in Seattle has been re-scheduled to March 1st and there is now space for 2 more.
Gathering of the Guilds (April 25-27 in Portland) spaces have sold very well. There is the possibility of 2 more spaces but we want to know before the next GOTG committee meeting: contact Lesley Kelly ASAP if you are interested in a space or to volunteer to help with this event.
The annual Gathering of the Guilds is this Friday through Sunday (April 25-27) in Portland’s Oregon Convention center Hall D. Free admission. PNW Glass Guild members Shawna Hovey, Teresa Kaufman, Lyn Kennison, Barbara Kienle, Carlyne Lynch, Daryle Rider, Linda Roman, and Greta Schneideralong with about 350 artists from 8 other organizations will be selling their artwork. Carlyne Lunch and sponsor Bullseye Glass have set up an informative schedule of presentations by various members ranging from how glass is made to dichro design, frit painting, potmelts, and vitrigraph cane. And of course the ongoing registration for Gathering of the Guilds booths: if you buy your booth and get your photos in by tonight’s publicity deadline (Jan 31st) your art has a good chance of being seen all over Portland in the next 3 months as part of the big promotion planned by the GOTG organization. The show will be April 28-30.
April 28th to the 30th Gathering of the Guilds (GOTG) Show in Portland OR expects 20,000 plus art lovers and purchasers to come visit the show. People are excited to get out and see your artwork in person and to chat with you.
We offer several alternatives for booths including a group booth and a special spot for new and emerging artists. We also have opportunities in the “Spotlight” for up to three of your masterpieces without having to be at the actual show.
If you are new to selling at a show, we are here to support each others’ success and can walk you through your maiden voyage.
One of this year’s artists who was in last years show noted that customers were saying “Thank you for having this show again – we are over the moon about seeing artist’s work again in person and have been missing this experience so much. It is a joy to see the creativity and beauty that is in all the work that is in this show and it has far exceeded our expectations”. Can’t wait to hear what they say about this years show!

Feb21Sherlocking Play Day (NE Portland OR)In-person troubleshooting of your fusing “surprises” is back! This is intended as a monthly event on each –2nd– Wednesday evening of the month after this one.
Feb 25 Guild General Meeting via Zoom: Things to do with your scrap. Get inspiration from other people’s projects and contribute your own. Lots of interesting examples have been seen at other meetings: potmelts, holiday decor, vitrigraph pulls etc. Bringing it all together as a topic should be interesting and informative.
