Reminder about Summer Picnic, A Sherlocking/Scaffolding Event and Swap Meet at Margie Rieff’s House on Saturday, August 30th.

On August 30th, the guild will have a combined event at Margie Rieff’s house from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Please bring food for a picnic – a ham will be provided as well as hamburgers and chicken. We will also be having a sherlocking/scaffolding meeting to talk about our glass pieces. Additionally, if you have glass supplies of any kind that you would like to swap or trade, please bring them. Please email Margie to let her know you are coming and ask for her address, and also let her know what food or beverage you can bring to the event.

  • Do you want to show (and sell) your glass art?

to the expected 20,000+ visitors at the Gathering of the Guilds show April 28-30 but only have a few pieces and don’t live close to Portland? We now have a volunteer who is willing to pick up your art at a drop-off point in Seattle and transport it to and from the show to save you from having to find a way to get it to Portland. In the Individual Artist Spotlight section we will light, display, and sell up to 3 pieces for members who can’t do a booth and who have arranged with us in advance to be part of the Spotlight area. For more details see the Spotlight section of the Gathering of the Guilds registration info.

  • New Sponsors! More Discounts! More Donations!

That’s right we’ve signed 4 new Sponsors in the last week and 3 of them offer discounts to members while the 4th gave us an awesome donation for the Vendor Fair.

Log in to PNWGG website to see the newest Sponsors: CRLynch, Diamonds Grind Glass, Glass Bird Studio and Zetamari. Go to their websites for more information on their products or services and remind yourself of who all of our awesome Sponsors are and which ones give you discounts on their products and/or services.

And don’t forget, the Vendor Fair is less than 3 weeks away (May 6 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM) and we have over $2,000 in prizes! Dichro sheet and embellishments, vitrigraph, stands, sheet glass, dichro sticks, molds, glass clay starter kits, and more! Prize tickets will be sold 2 for $1.00 and all sales will be CASH, so plan ahead. The funds raised, help us pay for this free member-only event. Be sure to renew your membership or have friends join the Guild before attending the event.

We still need several volunteers to help throughout the event as well as for providing a potluck item for dinner. The Guild will provide BBQ for the main course and bottled water and you’ll provide the rest.
