Seattle, WA – August 8 at 9:30 am: Join Guild member Karen Seymour in her studio near Woodland Park Zoo for a fun Play Day to explore “Shaping Glass Without Molds”. There are a couple of spots left. Contact her for more details and directions.

Kirkland, WA – August 8 5:00 – 7:00 pm: Parklane Gallery is having an Artists Reception for Guild member Linda Schnell.

Tacoma, WA – August 8 Glass Fest Northwest: Glass Fest Northwest, a program of the Museum of Glass, features local artists and artisans, live glassmaking demonstrations, food, drinks, music, and hands-on activities, plus an appearance in the Hot Shop by renowned artist Dan Friday. Free admission to the Museum of Glass is included in this event.

Bend, OR – August 7-9 Sunriver Art Fair: This long-running, juried art festival features 90 regional artists, including Guild member Johnathan Tardif.

Portland, OR – Remember to RSVP for the Guild Picnic at Margie Rieff’s house on August 15th!

    April 28-30 this free event at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland is the biggest item on the Guild calendar for good reason.
    • See lots of great glass from PNW Glass Guild members as well as work from 5 other guilds.

    • Look for the charity table where members are donating the proceeds of sales to benefit Mercy Corps.

    Glass Guild Vendor Fair This Sunday
    September 21, 2025 @ 2:00 – 6:00 pm Pacific Time.

    The Guild’s much-anticipated vendor fair is this coming weekend from 2:00 – 6:00 pm in Wilsonville, OR (20 mi. south of Portland). Vendors from around the region will be showcasing their latest and greatest glass-related goodies. Anyone is welcome to attend this potluck event (yes, bring food to share) but only Guild members can enter a drawing to win one of many prizes donated by vendors and sponsors.     General Meeting
    September 28, 2025 @ 3:30-5:00pm. Pacific Time : Via Zoom

    “Sharing and Sherlocking” is a phrase used to describe a meeting where participants can present their work, seek feedback, and brainstorm new ideas.

    • Sharing: This part of the meeting is a platform for participants to showcase projects they’ve been working on, share their accomplishments, or demonstrate a new technique they’ve learned.
    • Sherlocking: This term refers to the process of solving a problem or a challenge. In this context, it’s an interactive session where members can present a problem they’re trying to solve and receive input, advice, and creative solutions from the group. The name is a playful nod to Sherlock Holmes, the famous detective.
    • You can email photos in advance to Barb to share if you’re not able to present it yourself.

    August 17 & 18 Bainbridge Artisan Network (BARN), Bainbridge Island, WA: Meet visiting stained glass artist and educator Joseph Cavalieri and hear him speak on artist residency programs and his approach to stained glass. The talks are free, but reservations are required.

    August 22-23 Silverton Arts Festival, Silverton, OR: If you are in the Salem area, stop by and say hello to Guild member Kathy Kollenburn of Wildflower Fusing, who is one of 75 artists showing work at this juried event.

    August 29 Guild Picnic, Independence, OR: RSVP today to this end-of-summer gathering of glass artists in the Mid-Willamette Valley hosted by Guild sponsor Maganda Glassworks. Everyone is welcome – you don’t have to be a member to be part of the fun.

    Glass Art tour and sale Sept 14-15, 10 AM to 5 PM

    In just 6 stops in the greater Portland OR area you can talk with 12 PNW Glass Guild members and see (and buy) their amazing work: bowls, pendants, glass landscapes, lamps and more. Most sites have demos and some have fun projects. All 6 studios are part of the drawing for a $100 gift certificate. See the event listing for the map, artist info and all the fun details. Print the flyer for the drawing form (or pick it up at your first stop).

  • Reminder: RSVP to the PNWGG Holiday Party in Portland by Monday

    Event Reminder

    The Portland area Holiday Party is coming up fast: Saturday Dec 7th at Linda Gerrard’s in Beaverton. The fun begins at 5:00 PM and goes until about 9:00 PM.
    (There’s also a potluck Holiday Brunch Dec. 15th in Seattle)

    This is a not-to-be-missed event! We have an awesome potluck dinner with Linda Gerrard preparing the main course (and probably a few other things). The appetizer, salad, side dishes, libations and desserts are brought by the members in attendance. Believe me when I say, you won’t go home hungry!

    Not only will you be treated to an amazing meal, there is also a very fun gift exchange. You spend no more than $25.00 for the gift, everyone randomly selects a number and the fun begins. Don’t get too attached to your awesome gift because it just might get stolen.

    December 9 See member Evan Burnette and several other glass blowers in action and buy their work, including lots of ornaments, at the Local Art Glass Holiday Sale and Open Studio, Portland, OR, 10 am to 6 pm (the Old Pickle Factory building housing the studio is a holiday treat all on its own)

    PNW Glass Guild Potluck Holiday Parties

    For the Guild but friends and family and anyone else interested in glass is welcome to attend.

    December 9 Beaverton OR (SW of Portland) 5 pm hosted by Linda Gerrard. The food in the past has been wow and the glass gift exchange can get exciting when people start “stealing”. Contact Linda to check with her on what to bring.

    December 10 Seattle WA 11 am hosted by Karen Seymour near the zoo. Let’s talk glass! Show off what you’ve been working on and share ideas. Bring food and something glass-related & wrapped if you want to participate in the optional gift exchange too. Please contact Karen if you plan to attend so we have enough chairs etc.

    December 17 Vancouver WA 3 pm hosted by sponsor Melt Art Glass. Bring snacks etc. and celebrate the color that glass gives to our lives during this dark time of year with fellow glass enthusiasts.
