Australian artist, Dr. Helen Bodycomb, will share her new book, Mosaicism – Thinking in Mosaic on May 13, 2024 at 7:00 pm via Zoom.
Enhance your practice and grow your thinking. Come hear visiting Australian mosaicist Dr Helen Bodycomb speak about some of the evolutionary drivers that sit behind our urge to make mosaic, and other compelling ideas from her new book, Mosaicism – Thinking in Mosaic.
You can also meet Helen in-person at Marvelous Mosaic on May 13th, 5:00-7:00 pm. Marvelous Mosaic is hosting Helen with an open studio and refreshments at 64535 Columbia River Hwy, Deer Island, OR 97054 on May 13th, 5:00-7:00. Come meet Helen, purchase her book and get it signed. Marvelous Mosaic’s vitrigraph products, tools and supplies will be for sale at a discounted price for Guild members during this event.
Both booths are 10’x10′: one has a corner ($475 + commission) and one is in-line, i.e. no corner ($400 + commission). Show and sell your work to the anticipated thousands of attendees of this free annual eventApril 19-21 in Portland. Last year’s attendance was just over 13,000 and the GOTG publicity team estimates it may even reach 30,000 this year based on the huge increase in response they are already getting. You must be a current PNW Glass Guild member and sign up for your booth before March 1st or the space will be re-allocated. See the registration page for details.
Oct 5 Issaquah Salmon Days, Issaquah WA (SE of Seattle) member Linda Schnell will be selling her work along with lots of other juried artists in the 55th annual celebration of the salmon returning
Oct. 27 General Meeting via Zoom: voting for 2025 officers (all are willing to serve a second term so it should be short) followed by a discussion of packing, shipping, hang tags and all those little details that can help raise the level of your glass professionalism just in time for holiday sales.
Karen Seymour will host a potluck Guild Picnic and Mold Exchange in her shady back yard near the Zoo on Sunday July 28th from 11am until about 2 pm. Spouses, friends, and anyone else interested in glass is welcome to attend.
Plates, cups, utensils, water and lemonade will be supplied. Please bring a dish to feed about 8 and if you want something in particular other than water to drink you might bring that too. Feel free to also bring a recent piece of your work to show off or troubleshoot. We all love to talk about glass!
Mold Exchange: If you have a fusing, blowing, or stained glass mold you don’t use any more, bring it to trade for something you might use (No, you can’t leave it here at the end of the party!).
The address is 5415 Greenwood Ave N. Seattle, WA. Look for the house with the grape vines in front, walk down the alley and up the 3 steps into the back yard. If you can’t find street parking, parking for a few cars in the church lot across the street is OK if you put “Friend of SJU” on a note on your dash.
Let Karen, 2 0 6-5 2 5-1 5 7 7 know you are coming so she puts out enough chairs etc. It’s really hard to do so after guests start arriving.
Booth sales are open now on the website for the show. You must be a current member to sell your work.
This year’s show and sale will be in Hall D of the Convention Center and will be in a much larger space, which will allow us to arrange our booths differently and so we have more booths with front line corners and aisle corners.
We have more room for Group Booth tables, so we can provide more opportunities for new and emerging artists.
To sign up for a booth before they are all sold out, log in as a member, go to the homepage, then click on RegistrationInfo in the GOTG article, and follow the instructions.
If you have questions, please contact Lesley Kelly.

The show will be April 28-30.
