In-Studio Vitrigraph Training, Kent, WA

This is a unique opportunity to learn vitrigraph skills from Guild Members Carlyne Lynch and Diana Wendt. This 3-day Studio Vitrigraph Workshop provides an invaluable step-by-step class for students who want to learn the advanced vitrigraph technique of making beautiful patterned murrini.

Students will choose designs, select a color palette, and learn to create color bars or premade components to use in their designs. They will work with design templates and practice how to prepare/load pots effectively to achieve the best results with their murrini. Students will experience how to safely use the various tools/clothing used to pull vitrigraph and will practice by pulling the pots they design. Students share all of the murrini they make (bring containers). Vitrigraph hand-outs, design grids, and kiln schedules are provided to aid students in creating their own original designs.
