Guild Picnic in Seattle
July 20, 2025 @ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm Pacific time: Seattle
Karen Seymour will host a Guild Picnic Sunday July 20th at 11 am in her back yard 1 block west of the Zoo in Seattle *at 5415 Greenwood Ave N. Come down the alley and up the 3 steps into the back yard or, if you can’t deal with the slope of the alley, ring the doorbell and wait for someone to climb the back steps and let you in. Yes all the steps have handrails!
• Bring a dish to feed about 8 people.
• If you want something other than water to drink bring that too
• If you have glass related tools, molds, scraps, etc. that is taking up too much space in your studio and someone else might find useful we can set up a free/trading table (YES, you have to take it away again if no one wants it).
• We’d also love to see what you’ve been working on if you have something for show and tell. Or if you have a question on how to do something or why something happened, you can ask the experienced glass folks attending.
Anyone willing to discuss glass, shows etc. is welcome but please contact Karen by email to tell her how many are attending. It’s very difficult to get out extra chairs etc. after people start arriving.
NOTE: *there will be a construction detour on I-5 northbound at the Ship Canal Bridge this Sunday but at that time of day it shouldn’t be too bad a backup. North-bound I-5 traffic is re-routed south of downtown onto the North-bound Express Lanes. The first exit puts you off in the U-district at 42nd St instead of 50th St so at the end of the off-ramp turn left onto 7th Ave NE and head north to NE 50th St before heading west (left) on that. Ask Karen for directions if you are coming from the south and don’t know your way around Seattle.
