Guild Picnic in Seattle
July 19 @ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm Pacific time: Seattle
Karen Seymour will host a Guild Picnic Sunday July 19th at 11 am in her back yard 1 block west of the Zoo in Seattle at 5415 Greenwood Ave N. Come down the alley and up the 3 steps into the back yard or, if you can’t deal with the slope of the alley, ring the doorbell and wait for someone to climb the back steps and let you in. Yes all the steps have handrails!
Anyone willing to discuss glass, shows etc. is welcome but please contact Karen by email to tell her how many are attending. It’s very difficult to get out extra chairs etc. after people start arriving.
• Bring a dish to feed about 8 people. If you want something other than water to drink bring that too
• Bring something for show and tell or a question on how to do something or why something happened. The experienced glass folks attending may be able to answer it.
• If you have glass related-things to give away you can bring them (YES, you have to take it away again if no one wants it).
For those coming from the south: I-5 northbound over the ship canal bridge (Seattle’s U-district) is down to 2 lanes again. Traffic isn’t usually too bad on Sunday morning but you are welcome to arrive early if you want to beat the traffic. We’ll put you to work.
The express lanes are open northbound all the time due to the construction. If you take the express lanes get off at the very first exit after the bridge onto 42nd St. Go north to 50th St (45th also works if you end up turning too early) and follow that to Phinney Ave N and turn right — that takes you north along the west edge of the Zoo. Turn left (west, downhill) at the light at N 55th St and go 1 block to Greenwood Ave N. You are now in front of the house.
