Have you wondered how people selling vitrigraph create beautiful millefiori designs? Would you like to learn how to build intricate vitrigraph cane? In this class, you will learn how to go beyond circles and lines to create and assemble more intricate vitrigraph designs. This is more personal and customized instruction than my Las Vegas Glass Show classes! The goal of this class is:
- Learn to make design decisions to create patterns that work
- Learn the tools and techniques to create component elements
- Learn unique pulling methods and custom tool use for pulling
We will show you detailed examples of just some of the possibilities for building component designs. You will also receive handouts to take home that contain all of the pertinent information we will cover in the class regarding these techniques. We will load and pull pots so you can review the process of stacking and loading the pot and the resulting rods. We will analyze the pot so you can see where the distortion area is. You will learn pulling, mashing, hollow reduction, twisties, and other trade tricks.
You will get to take home vitrigraph murrini and millefiori, so please bring transport containers. We will share ALL the cane with the participants, and you will more than pay for this course with the cane you will take home. ALL glass provided. Contact the instructor to bring your own colors for a custom design on day 2. You can receive a discount on the course for bringing your own glass.
