Members Ann Cavanaugh and Vicki Green are 2 of the 50 artists selected to open their studios during the Clark County (WA) Open Studio tour. The tour is Nov 6 & 7, 10am to 5pm. Nov. 6 & 7 Free Ornament Workshop

By appointment at Carlyne Lynch’s studio in Wilsonville OR, a SW Portland suburb. Bring your grandchildren over 8 years old and bring yourself and join me in my studio for fun and adventure and no experience required. Make a free ornament. All supplies and tools will be provided, and no experience is needed. I will have kits available and be on hand to cut a hat, scarf or whatever your unique ornament needs. You create the ornament and I will fire it and get it back to you within a week. I have offered this workshop for three years. This year masks will be required, and social distancing will be offered. November 13 Vitrograph Play Day

Oct. 24 General meeting: Lighting the Future

A short election of officers for next year and then several artists will talk about how they do lighting: 3-d printing, solar power, Patte de Verre, getting parts and more will probably be discussed. Our tour is part of Refract ( RefractSeattle.org ) a much larger 50+ venue, area-wide event which starts Thursday, Oct. 14th. Double the fun! There will be 2 Guild picnics this year:
First in Seattle on August 15th at 11:30 am and then in Portland on August 22nd at 4pm.

If you are fully vaccinated, you are welcome to attend one or both picnics. We’ll try to set up a Zoom link for those far away or not yet fully vaccinated so they can share the festivities. Anyone willing to listen/join us talking about glass is welcome. You are encouraged to bring one of your Covid-year glass projects (or a photo) to show what you’ve been up to. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Sooke Fine Arts Show provides the opportunity for the finest artists from Vancouver Island and BC’s coastal islands to showcase and sell their work. The show is free and open to view on line from July 23 – August 2, 2021. We are very proud of our emerging artists and the body of work they produce. Included in the Show is a wonderful component of juried youth art from students Grade 9 -12.
