Double the fun! There will be 2 Guild picnics this year:
First in Seattle on August 15th at 11:30 am and then in Portland on August 22nd at 4pm.

If you are fully vaccinated, you are welcome to attend one or both picnics. We’ll try to set up a Zoom link for those far away or not yet fully vaccinated so they can share the festivities. Anyone willing to listen/join us talking about glass is welcome. You are encouraged to bring one of your Covid-year glass projects (or a photo) to show what you’ve been up to. More details will be posted in the events calendar entries: Seattle https://www.pnwglassguild.org/event/guild-picnic-seattle/ and Portland https://www.pnwglassguild.org/event/picnic/

Displaying Your Work: Stands, Supports, Hangers etc.

This Sunday June 27th from 2 pm to around 3:30 pm
Anyone can attend our General Meetings. Feel free to share the Zoom link with people you think might also be interested but please DON’T post it on public forums so we avoid attracting those who think breaking up a Zoom meeting is fun.

We’ve got some innovative artists promising to attend. For the Zoom info and the partial list of speakers see
https://www.pnwglassguild.org/event/general-meeting-june-27-2021/

You’re invited to show your solutions too. The show and tell style meeting is aimed at getting glass artists to think about their piece as a whole, including how to display it, and to inspire the group to share ideas of how to do that. Each artist will speak for a minute or two, take any questions and then we’ll move on. It will be recorded for Members to view later.

Mark Brody will focus on Garden Mosaic, the Peaks and the Troughs. He will go through which materials are best, and why others will fail over time. He will also introduce his tile sources, where to get the proper materials, and why they work best for exterior works. Most importantly he will introduce 2 methods of mosaic to get any project started. Lastly, he will offer two great ways to get into mosaics: his At-home Mosaic Kits and his Summer Mosaic workshop schedule. Learn mosaics on your own or take a class with Mark Brody
